| The name Blue Devils originated in 1920 by Shenandoah's first offical football coach Al Symbal a W.W.I. veteran who served with a crack French unit called the "Alpine Chauseurs". Nicknamed the Blue Devils, they were known for their courage, tenacity and relentless fighting spirit. |
